Paris is one of the most well known cities and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world. The central part of Paris has a population of nearly two and a quarter million people but if you move into the suburbs this number rises to around ten million. Paris is a great place to travel around with an excellent transportation system. Paris has the unique pleasure of being the international capital of fashion and art and when fashions are launched, it is normally from this city. The museums here are well known and Paris has many world class galleries and is known for the art it is able to offer its visitors. If you are planning a trip to Paris then you will no doubt have plans to visit the big three attractions; just don't limit yourself just to these when there are plenty of other places of interest. You probably know their names well even if you haven't seen them in real life like the famous cathedral - Notre Dame, the beautiful Eiffel Tower and the marvelous Arc de Triomphe. When it comes to museums, Paris is the place to be and if you can only see one, the Louvre should definitely be your choice as it is one of the largest and most visited museums in the world. Some of the most well known paintings and works of art are either stored or displayed here including the infamous Mona Lisa which is just one reason to visit. Paris does not have the best weather in the world, but at the same time it is very steady throughout the year and the Oceanic climate of Paris ensures that temperatures never get too hot or too cold. In the winter months for example, temperatures hover around the 40 degree Fahrenheit area rising to an average of 75 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer so travel is never an arduous affair. Two airports service Paris, Orly Airport which is the smaller of the two and Roissy-en-France which is a very busy international airport. As Roissy-en-France is so large it is able to have direct flights both incoming and outgoing to most of the international destinations. All types of people like to visit Paris and it is not difficult to see why as it promises something for everyone with an air of culture that should not be missed. Any trip to Europe would not be complete without a stay in Paris even if it is a long weekend because there is so much to see and do it is almost certain you will want to return.
