When you are launching a website, know where you're at, define what your strategy is, channel your power, which means link to the pages you want to have ranked, then start building, and then start your link building campaign. That's the secret to dominating online when it comes to SEO.

This is the evolution of the SEO Method 2.0. First we have our money site and that encompasses all of your sub pages as well. The first stage of what we're going to be doing is directory submissions. The reason we do this first is, it's really easy to do. There are different services to do it, they'll drip it out over time. The way that we do it, I go through it and I've got my link. Part of my business is, I am an affiliate marketer, so I use my affiliate links.

The company that we use is Directory Maximizer. Basically we submit our websites in there, we usually do it to 300+ domain names. We ask for PR1 and above, so page rank 1 and above. That said though, depending on what the client's requirements are, if we're going after a really competitive niche, using link building tools and I know this is a long term play, I just do as many as they can do.

Some time ago I had an interview with all the guys at Directory Maximizer and they mentioned the truth that they execute a great deal of research into the different sites that make up these directories. They said, as time passes some will improve in PR, some will develop into paid directories also. If you just undergo everything right now it may be page rank zero but who knows, in 36 months it may be a web page rank 4 and require $50 so that you can join. And so I just say the more the merrier works in link building campaign if money is not a problem.

The reason why I do directory submissions is especially to obtain the URL links back for the website. We're trying to replicate what happens in nature in terms of SEO. When individuals hyperlink to your website, it is very good to hyperlink to your website with the URL of your website as the anchor text. And so the reason we use directory submissions is to make certain we're getting a great deal of backlinks back to our website with all the url inside the anchortext. That's the primary reason for doing it.

When the search engines do their analysis, it is not planning to look very natural if all of your links are just these keywords because of your choice of anchor text. So that's why we use directory submissions. for our link building efforts. They're certainly not that beneficial. In older days, you have access to a website ranked by simply submitting to directories, but times have changed now. If you can enter into things like some of the bigger known directories, think about DMOZ or the Yahoo! directory.

Directories are pretty much a free for those who want to take advantage of it. DMOZ is probably the more popular ones, so it is obviously gets a very high PR. All it is, is only a good deal of categories and you will select another category and go deeper and deeper unless you view a site listing. So they get out there and submit. This is the way the net was once before Google came along. That's the way the engines like Google treat a link building campaign today.
