When you complete your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program, you will need to take a certification test administered by your state of residence to get your certificate. The CNA Test is different for each state. If you move to a different state, you will have to take the test for that state in order to work as a CNA. You will not have to take the entire course over again in order to get certified in a different state, but it might be a good idea to take a continuing education refresher geared for that state before you take the test. More people are finding it easier to obtain an accredited degree online because they do not have to travel to another part of the state just to attend college. The National League for Nursing Accreditation evaluates nursing programs throughout the United States. The organization "is nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting agency for postsecondary and higher degree nursing programs." Public Administration. Only four colleges in Virginia have undergraduate public administration programs that have been approved by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration: the College of William & Mary, George Mason University, James Madison University and Virginia State University. Liberal Arts. A recent addition to the list of accrediting organizations is the American Academy for Liberal Education. St. John's College in Annapolis and Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista have been approved by AALE. Other major public universities throughout Virginia have excellent liberal arts programs that will soon be accredited by AALE. Where to find nursing online courses and how to apply- Online nursing programs are not so much different from the traditional classroom setting. There are a number of things to remember before applying to be a registered nurse online. First and the most important of all is that the program must have accreditation. Before anything else, make sure that you are applying for a program that is accredited if you want to be qualified to take the board exam in becoming a registered nurse. A licensed program is the most important thing that you should take into account, other than the length or cost of the program. To sit for a CNA exam, you must have completed a state-approved training program. You can complete the application before your course of study completes, but your test will not be scheduled until after the completion date. However, graduates of training programs in other states can also apply for testing. Some states allow candidates without any formal training to challenge the exam, but this should be rare. Once you have passed the certification test, you will not need to take it again unless you move to another state or let your certification lapse. Your certification will lapse if you do not complete the required continuing education training every two years.
