As though Destiny had been giving opportunity to virtually all and also almost suggesting nobody succeeds, human times of yore has seen empires going up with united pride and then crumpling down with division. Although European empires followed suite in the making of empires, almost due to a modern touch, it was revolutions which brought them all the way down. Winning France and extending up to 'Sun never sets in the British Empire', it was the British Empire that ruled considerably more. Although begun as a business venture, with businessmen not ruling, an easy right to arm themselves against pirates made available by an Indian king transformed the history of East India Company, India plus the world. When this was coordinated with 'united we stand', here (even the Scots!) and Indian known but Britain patented 'divide and rule' there, conquering was a not impossible. When 'united we stand' was remarkably extended to native fighters, victory became smooth. Praising the ruled not aiding rule; when denigration of local people's faith and lifestyle was added, even ruling was smooth. As if to play hide and seek, the rulers lived in cantonment spots and emerged outside exclusively for comfort or work. Although the locals, who were called natives, dint quite get handshakes with the rulers, rulers among them even became playing buddies. Pretty much stating 'rulers of the world unite', the Brits even got support from the local rulers. Centuries just went past and Britain grew to become richer and locals poorer. Despite this, being proficient at hiding weaknesses and using loudspeaker for advantages, called propaganda machine, they even got respect as good rulers. However, just about suggesting teaching of freedom, fraternity and equality- values of French Revolution, wasn't a good idea; it was the trained ones, who triggered political revolutions that at last sent the Brits back to their isles. Increasing the disaster, not properly planned divide of the subcontinent into India and the newly shaped Pakistan on religious lines saw the massacre of many many millions of individuals. Empire itself had a huge impact on the history of many countries of the world, as well as on Europe. Almost like several British people disliking Germans, there are Indians, who loath the British and charge them of being liable for the Indian famine, taking away money from India and utilizing the 'divide and rule' policy to govern. Nonetheless, there are also several British people, who reason that Empire was good. They presume that Britain made India modern. In relation to the modern world, the consequence of Empire on science technology and Industrial Revolution cannot be ignored. Almost using Briton's 'divide and rule', on Empire's effect on the West and the rest, the book which has a surprising name, 'Women's Power: Its Past, Its Present, Its Future: Femocracy' looks at the pros and cons of the Empire and narrates the contributions it made in the establishment of the modern world.
