Just as a computer can provide us with information; libraries can also provide us with lots of information. Many of us just go to the computer or pull a book off the shelf and search for an answer. However there are many people who don't have access to a computer and depend on libraries and the vast amount of books they contain. These people depend on the books to provide them with up to date information. In this article you will find that society can benefit from your book contribution.

Prior to making a book contribution you should ask yourself the following five questions.

1. Can my contribution of books be used again or are they obsolete? Books that have outdated information are not much help for people who are tying to get updated information. Books that are obsolete can be contributed to a facility that recycles them and will prevent added waste in landfills.

2. Are the books that I want to contribute in good condition? Books that are used but in good condition still have years of life to them. The books educational, entertainment, and informative value is still good.

3. If I have damaged books where can I contribute them to be recycled? There are facilities available that recycle books. You can find these facilities on the internet, in the phone book, or in a newspaper.

4. How will my book contribution benefit the community? A book contribution can benefit the community locally and globally. Your book contribution will aid in improving literacy skills that can help in numerous ways such as: higher wages, improved health, increased productivity, reduced crime and poverty.

5. Where can I contribute my books? If you have a favorite book store ask them where you could contribute your unwanted books. You may also search the internet under book donation or book contribution and you will find many with a worthy cause. There are many groups who perform book drives and take book contributions to aid those who are less fortunate.

Well established organizations have connections to locations that are in need of books. Many organizations are happy to accept any book contributions. Books are always needed by these organizations who in turn contribute these books to people in need. Some of these book types include novels, children's books, religious books, textbooks and even magazines.

By contributing your unwanted books you are helping the global society become a better place for everyone.
