IPods are great Mp3 units and their popularity has skyrocketed since they first came out years ago. There have been many different models and upgrades as Apple continually tries to keep the iPod current and in style. The one thing that hasnt change much though, is the earphones that come with all the units. Anyone who has used one of these earphones for an extended period of time knows the sound quality isnt that great and the earphones themselves hurt your ear.

This leaves few options for people other than to set out in search of earphones that will do a better job. Bose is one of the most respected companies that makes all sorts of audio equipment and one of their top sellers are noise canceling headphones. They do make earphones as well though and, as can be expected, they are quite high priced retailing at about $100.

Are the Bose earphones the best earphones though? They are definitely one of the most expensive earphones you can buy but are they really worth the extra money? First of all, if you are prone to lose your earphones, it might not be a great idea to get expensive ones. Some people have a habit of losing their earphones and they should probably get cheaper ones. If you do want the best though, Bose is generally regarded as the leader in all things having to do with audio. Their in-ear phones, as they are called, are 3 to 4 times more expensive than other brands but they do deliver the great sound they are famous for.

Paying more for a pair of earphones than the price of an Mp3 player is something very few people can afford to do. However, some people place a premium on sound and are willing to pay the highest prices for it. Most of us though, just want earphones that feel good in our ears, dont hurt, and provide an above average sound quality.

Any search for the best sound equipment will lead you sooner or later to Bose and at that point you have to decide whether the high price is really worth it to you. There is a good selection of earphones that lie somewhere between the high quality of Bose and the low quality of the standard iPod earphones. Finding the right pair for you might be difficult because most of them come prepackaged and you cannot give them a test run. Nevertheless, no matter what your budget is, you will need to find something better for your ears than the Apple earphones that just dont do the job.
