There are a lot of ways that you can leverage the internet to promote your website or even your physical location. I'll be writing about a few of these methods in this article. Article marketing is a great way to get traffic. I'm practicing what I'm preaching here by using articles to promote my own websites and services. There are a lot of benefits to using articles, not the least of which is that you'll be able to brand yourself as an expert in your niche or field. This generates credibility and ultimately more sales for your products or services if you leverage this resource in the right way. I find that for every 100 people that view my article, about 7-8 of them will click through to my website that is linked at the bottom of each article. Google has local listings as well that you can submit your business information to. The options to submit your site will include rankings for regionally specific keywords such as "Salt Lake City plumber" which will include your listing along with other plumbers in that same area. You may be surprised to find that if you're listed as a local business elsewhere, your information may already be included. If not, you can always add it and also customize it to include a link to your website as well. Google has yet another service that is very friendly to merchants which is their database of events, products, services, and just about anything else you can think of. This database is a huge source of product listings that merchants and use to submit their products, services and pricing along with relevant links back to product pages of their websites or appropriate contact information. You can use Craigslist.org as well to list items for sale, events, such as a sale that your business is having or even products, or things like a coupon code that you can use to get other people to your business or website to buy your product. In my experience, coupon codes work very well on classified ad sites. Social networking is best described as communicating and "networking" with other like-minded people on the internet. There's a lot more than I can even pretend to get into with only a few sentences. Spending time on sites like youtube.com, digg.com, facebook.com and several sites like this represent probably the most frequently visited social networking sites on the internet. Sites that facilitate the interaction between individuals through commenting, blogging, posting, instant messaging, etc. would be considered "Web 2.0" sites. Another way to get traffic to your site is to comment on other people's blogs. This works the best when you have blogs that get a lot of comments and posts that get a lot of views. Adding a comment that provides insight and adds value to the original message will get people more interested in what you have to say on your website which will create traffic to your site, and depending on the blog will also create some search engine optimization benefits and help you with your website's ranking. There are several things you can do to get traffic to your website and if you're wiling to spend the time, you can get a lot of traffic for free. These are only a few of the methods that I use. About the Author: If you're seriously about promoting a website, you can spend either time or money to get this done. If you don't spend the money, you'll have to spend the time. One of the best possible ways to leverage your money is by getting someone else to do the busy work for you. I hire outsourcers and train them to do a lot of this type of work for me. I also leverage as much as I can from Google Adwords. Kindly provided by MoneyHunter.org You are welcome to use this article on your own website, if you include the link just before this text. |
