Working from home can be great, but why should you look into doing it? You have a job. Although it doesn't provide the kind of life you dream about living, you get by. But are you happy?

Think of it: The long hours. Your overbearing boss. And the coworker who drives you batty.

And then there's the pay. It limits all your financial decisions. "No, I can't afford it now--no to the Cadillac Escalade I want, no to my brow lift, not to my daughter's braces." In short, "No, no, no!"

And there's no telling what will happen to your job someday. Then why do you procrastinate checking into other opportunities?

"It pays the bills."

So basically it's safe. Why? Because it's familiar, but that's no promise that it will be there for you tomorrow. Nothing in life is secure. Change will occur, and it may not be according to your desire.

"But what if I fail?" You ask. "What if I loose everything I have? I can't accept failure--I can't."

So you don't.

But what will you do when one day you DO find yourself out of work? How will you make ends meet then? You'll have no other means of support, and THAT is dangerous.

What you should do for a minute is to step outside your emotions. Look at your situation objectively--as if you were analyzing your best friend's situation and advising him.

You'd probably start telling yourself things like, "How do you know if there's something better out there if you don't look?" "There's no guarantee that your job will be there tomorrow." Or "Your cousin Kathryn started a home business 3 months ago. Why don't you ask her about it?" You would encourage investigation rather than dismiss it.

Keep in mind that not everything your mind tells you is right but that neither is everything it tells you wrong either. You just need to learn to tell the difference. And the best way to help you do that is to separate yourself from your feelings.

So give yourself permission to take the plunge and look into some home business opportunities. Who knows? You may just find something you like better.
