I suppose everyone would like to own a business and work at home. Many people have done it. If you want to follow in their footsteps, here are a couple of thoughts about what it takes.

Will you be willing to work at two jobs as you build you new business? The safest way to make the transition from a nine to five job to being an entrepreneur is to build your business part time, keeping your old job. If you leave your old job, the pressure to succeed quickly can cause the failure of many businesses that would have made it.

By keeping the bills paid with your old job you can take your time. Many good business ideas, that would have succeeded, fail due to financial problems. Wait until your new venture is making money before leaving your old work.

If this has gone right, you have built up a full time income on a part time work schedule. Now you have a choice to make. When you quit your old job, you can add more time and energy to your new business. On the other hand, you could choose to keep working part time hours and enjoy this newly found free time.

If someone told you that you could make 100,000 a year working twenty hours a week, I assume you'd take the job. Wouldn't that make working at two careers for a while well worth it? I can't imagine anyone saying no to that.

If you are going to be in business for yourself, the best thing you can do is find a job that involves something you really like to do. If you like clothes, maybe you can design them, or sell what you think is good stuff. Anyway, something you have passion for will really increase your odds for success.

I'll give you two examples of businesses that can get you what you want. There a many more possibilities, these are just examples. Selling products online, and Multi level marketing companies, are two ways you can work part time from home and build a big business.

Network marketing gets a bad rap. In reality you do two things in network marketing. You sell products for a company, and you get others involved in doing the same. This is a great field for you if you have good people skills.

This works because a network marketing company doesn't advertise. You, as a marketer, are paid for products sold by you and your team. If you build a good foundation this can generate residual income that can last for years.

If you don't feel you'd like person to person selling, the selling stuff on the internet is a good choice. You get a website that acts as a store where people can see what you have to sell. Your store will be open all the time and can get customers from anywhere. You can build a huge business this way.

There are all kinds of things you can choose to do. If you have the drive and passion to get out of the workplace and making a living on your own, you can make it happen. You generally will be rewarded with making better money in less time!
